JESUS and the KINGDOM of GOD

JESUS told 70 disciples:

Luke 10:9

King James Version

9 And heal the sick that are therein,

and say unto them,

The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

JESUS made a powerful declaration about the "kingdom of God".

Apart from many others you'll find on this blog.

First, let's know what power JESUS had:

Isaiah 9:5-7

King James Version

5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise,

and garments rolled in blood;

but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

6 For unto us a child is born,

unto us a son is given:

and the government shall be upon his shoulder:

and his name shall be called Wonderful,

Counsellor, The mighty God,

The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 Of the increase of his government and peace

there shall be no end,

upon the throne of David,

and upon his kingdom,

to order it,

and to establish it with judgment and with justice

from henceforth even for ever.

The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Matthew 28:18

King James Version

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them,

saying,

All power is given unto me

in heaven and in earth.

John 17:1-4

King James Version

17 These words spake Jesus,

and lifted up his eyes to heaven,

and said,

Father, the hour is come;

glorify thy Son,

that thy Son also may glorify thee:

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh,

that he should give eternal life

to as many as thou hast given him.

3 And this is life eternal,

that they might know thee the only true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

4 I have glorified thee on the earth:

I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Colossians 1:12-19

King James Version

12 Giving thanks unto the Father,

which hath made us meet to be partakers

of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us

from the power of darkness,

and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood,

even the forgiveness of sins:

15 Who is the image of the invisible God,

the firstborn of every creature:

16 For by him were all things created,

that are in heaven, and that are in earth,

visible and invisible,

whether they be thrones, or dominions,

or principalities, or powers:

all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things,

and by him all things consist.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church:

who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;

that in all things he might have the preeminence.

19 For it pleased the Father

that in him should all fulness dwell;

Colossians 2:8-10

King James Version

8 Beware lest any man spoil you

through philosophy and vain deceit,

after the tradition of men,

after the rudiments of the world,

and not after Christ.

9 For in him dwelleth

all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him,

which is the head of all principality and power:

Is it any wonder then, that the LORD JESUS can make the following declarations?

Matthew 12:28

King James Version

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God,

then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Luke 11:20

King James Version

20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils,

no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

Those two are the same verses on how JESUS casts out demons.

ALWAYS through the SPIRIT of GOD.

Whether by Matthew's "Spirit of God", or by Luke's "finger of God", JESUS' statement is the same:

"the kingdom of God is come unto/upon you"

We are trying to see how the Bible connects the "kingdom of God" with JESUS, and the HOLY SPIRIT.

More on SPIRIT on the next page.
